You don't get the cash, but you do get it in the form of Food
Stamps. The Food Stamp Program was designed to help low-income families
buy the food they need to stay healthy and productive. The amount
of Food Stamps you get each month is determined by the number of
people in your family and by the household income. The average benefit
is about $71 dollars a month, but a 4-person household could get
up to $408 a month. There are obviously income requirements you
must meet. To apply for the Program, look in the blue pages of your
telephone book under "Food Stamps," "Social Services,"
or "Public Assistance." You can also find more information
by contacting U.S. Department of Agriculture, Food and Nutrition
